Police are searching for offenders after two aggravated robberies in Hamilton

According to police, the first incident occurred in a carpark beside Flagstaff Park at around 3:30pm on Saturday.

Two people were approached by two men wearing black clothing and balaclavas.

The men were armed with weapons and demanded phones from the victims who ran away.

One of the victims was then assaulted, receiving scrapes and bruises, and their phone was stolen.

The offenders left the scene in a vehicle.

Later that night at around 7pm Police were called to River Road after four offenders arrived in two vehicles and entered a liquor store.

The men were armed with weapons and stole a number of items.

They then left in a stolen silver Toyota Axio, with registration QBG553, which has since been recovered by Police.

The shop assistants weren't hurt but were left shaken.

Police are now working to locate the offenders in both cases and to establish if there is any link between them.

Police are urging the public to come forward if they have any information by calling 105.
