A man has been arrested and charged with burglary and arson after a fire broke out at the Pullman Hotel last night.

Police told Newshub a 34-year-old man will appear at Auckland District Court on Monday.

Multiple blazes broke out at the Pullman at around 7:50pm, leaving the building "smoked-logged".

The Football Ferns, who are using the hotel as their Auckland base were, along with other guests, forced to evacuate.

Fire and Emergency northern communications centre shift manager Mau Barbara told Newshub on Saturday seven fire trucks were in attendance, with about 26 firefighters.

Fire investigators were at the scene as well as Police, and the cause is still being determined.

"The Football Ferns team and staff have been temporarily evacuated from the Pullman Hotel, their team base for the FIFA Women's World Cup, due to a fire," NZ Football told AAP.

"All of the team and staff are safe and accounted for."

There are no injuries reported at this stage.
