Person critically injured after being shot in Invercargill

A man has been critically injured after being shot in Invercargill on Sunday evening. 

Emergency services were called to Mavora Crescent in the suburb of Heidelberg shortly before midnight after reports of a shooting. 

Police said they're making enquiries into the shooting after the man was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

"Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing, and Police would like to hear from anyone who might have helpful information to share," the spokesperson said.

So far, no one has been arrested for the shooting.
