Emergency services are responding after seven people were injured in a three-car crash in the Tararua District.
A Police spokesperson said staff are responding to the multi-vehicle crash which happened at about 3:38pm on Napier Rd, Papatawa.
A helicopter is on its way to provide transport with one person seriously injured, and the other six moderately injured.
"The road is closed between Woodville and Dannevirke while emergency services are at the scene," said a Police spokesperson.
Police are urging motorists to avoid the area.
