State Highway 1 is closed in Taupō, Bay of Plenty following a crash involving two vehicles.
The crash happened at Waitahanui, south of Taupō, at around 12:30pm on Friday.
"Initial indications are that there have been injuries," a police spokesperson said.
Emergency services were called to the crash and are in attendance.
Motorists have been asked to avoid the area and expect delays.
