A man with a weapon has sparked an armed police response in Tauranga.
Police received a report of concern around 7am and have cordoned off an area near Devonport Road as a precaution.
The Bay of Plenty Times reports 12th Ave and 13th Ave are closed due while police respond.
A police spokesperson says enquiries are ongoing to speak with the man.
