Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) crews are battling a house fire in Auckland's Henderson that's sending "large" amounts of smoke into the air.

A FENZ spokesperson told Newshub crews received a report about the house fire at about 10:30am on Wednesday morning.

Fire crews arrived to find two structures on the same property "well involved", requiring nine fire trucks to respond.

The spokesperson said fire crews are fighting the blaze from outside the structures and working to protect surrounding properties.
A local told Newshub they saw a "large" amount of smoke billowing from the home.
