Footage of two vehicles dangerously swerving back and forth across three lanes of an Auckland motorway has sparked outrage on social media.

The Auckland motorist who shared the video, believed to have been filmed on the Southwestern Motorway at Mt Roskill, was understandably shocked when two cars in front of him began veering from side to side and can be heard repeatedly saying "holy shit".

Originally shared on TikTok, the video was subsequently shared on Reddit with the caption: "F**kin' numpties."

Viewers were shocked by the motorists' erratic driving.

"People are so quick to insane road rage these days," one commenter wrote.

"Not surprised, not a single commute goes by in Auckland where I don't feel like people are in a rush or lack general courtesy," another said.

Police have been approached for comment.
