Napier crime: 14-year-old arrested, 13-year-old cuts ankle kicking in glass door during ram-raid

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in Napier and charged in relation to a spate of recent ram-raids. 

Detective Senior Sergeant James Keene said the teenager is accused of being involved with four recent ram raids and taking several vehicles throughout Hawkes Bay. 

He is due to appear in Hastings District Court. 

Police also stopped a vehicle that was involved in the recent ram raid of the Big Barrell on Carlyle St. Three people were in the car when it was stopped, including a 13-year-old with a gash on his ankle that required immediate medical attention. 

He identified himself as the offender who kicked the glass door during the Big Barrell ram-raid. He also admitted to the arresting officers his involvement in both of the ram-raids at the store.
