Last month, emergency responders rushed to the Albany Bus Station after an incident in the middle of the day.

At the time, Auckland Transport said it was assisting police after an altercation broke out between members of the public, which resulted in a person receiving critical injuries.

Poutapu was taken to hospital, but died later that day.

An automatic suppression order that meant he could not be named, but that has now lifted.

The 16-year-old's interim name suppression continues and he has been remanded in custody at a Youth Justice facility.

A trial date has been set down for November 2024.
