Weather: Severe weather warnings issued for Northland, Auckland, Coromandel

MetService has issued a severe weather watch for Northland, Auckland, and the Coromandel Peninsula for the next two days.

Heavy rain and severe easterly winds are expected for the region from Sunday through to Monday as a large, deep, and complex low pressure system moves slowly southeast.

MetService also issued a heavy rain watch for Auckland and Great Barrier Island, with thunderstorms possible on Monday morning.
