Driver crashes car through fence into hot pool in Rotorua

Emergency services have rescued one person after they drove their car into a Rotorua hot pool on Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened at Kuirau Park, near the intersection of Ranolf St and Arawa St.

A police spokesperson told Newshub they were called to the crash just before 2:20pm.

"The car crashed through a fence into a hot pool. The sole occupant of the vehicle was rescued with no injuries reported," the spokesperson said.

"It appears this may have happened as a result of a medical event."
