Three people have been arrested after the burglary of a Hamilton rifle club.

Fourteen firearms were taken from a secured safe, as well as a large amount of ammunition, some time between October 25 and November 1.

This week members of the Waikato tactical crime team, along with the armed defenders squad, carried out search warrants for four Hamilton properties.

Three firearms and a bow and arrows were located and seized at one address.

Two men aged 31 and 33, and a woman aged 27, are due to appear in the Hamilton District Court on charges of burglary and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Scene examinations at all four addresses have been completed and the investigation continues.

As the matter is before the court Police said they were limited in making further comment.
