Emergency services at 'water incident' in Auckland's Rothesay Bay

One person has died following a water incident on Auckland's North Shore.

A second person has been transported to North Shore Hospital in a moderate condition.

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 5pm on Saturday evening.

St John said three ambulances, one rapid response unit and one operations manager attended the scene.

They said there were reports of multiple patients.

Police said their thoughts were with the family of the person who had died.

Their death would be referred to the Coroner.
