Police said they arrested a man and he will appear in Auckland District Court on Monday, facing a charge of intent to injure.
Witnesses told the NZ Herald a fight between what appeared to be family members erupted outside the pub.
The manager of the Shakespeare Tavern told the Herald two groups spilled out of a bar next door and began fighting in front of the pub.
"The one guy who was knocked out was hit several times by a couple of other guys."
