A man has been seriously injured after being struck by a spinning hose reel and falling from a vehicle.
The man, who is in his 30s, was struck multiple times by the hose before falling 1.2 metres from a vehicle in Ardmore, Auckland on Monday.
Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopters said the man managed to knock on its Ardmore Base door for help at 10:45am where a medical team attended to him.
The man was transported to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition, Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopters added.
