A child was seriously injured on Thursday night after reportedly falling from a window in Lake Hayes, Otago.
Police said in a statement they were "called to assist Ambulance/FENZ at 9pm last night 4 January, where it was reported that a child fell from a window.
"The child was taken to the emergency department at Lakes District Hospital."
St John said an ambulance and a helicopter attended the incident at around 9:10pm.
The patient was in a serious condition.
