A 25-year-old man has been arrested following an alleged serious assault in Ahuriri/Napier earlier this week.
On Wednesday, police were called to Latham Street in Marewa shortly after 3pm.
A man since been charged with "wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm", a police spokesperson said on Friday.
Detective Sergeant Kate Hyde also thanked the public for their help.
The man is set to appear at the Hastings District Court on Saturday.
