A person has been taken to Christchurch Hospital after being hit by a car shortly before 3pm.
The incident happened on Sunday on Richards Ave in the suburb of Papanui.
A police spokesperson told Newshub this appears linked to a "disorder-related incident" beforehand on Greers Road.
They added enquiries are ongoing to find out what happened.
