Police are negotiating with a person at a west Auckland house on Friday morning after an early morning incident.
A section of Portage Road in New Lynn is closed while police respond. Emergency services were called to the address at around 3am after reports of an incident involving two people who knew each other.
One person was removed from the house earlier this morning and police are currently attempting to get the other to leave.
Inspector Rod Carpinter said there is no risk to the public but people who live and work in the area may face disruptions and delays.
