Firefighters have battled and controlled a rubbish dump fire in west Christchurch overnight.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) said just before 2:30am on Tuesday morning, firefighters were called to a 'well involved' blaze at 'Eco-Drop' on Parkhouse Road in the Christchurch suburb of Wigram.
FENZ said a 50 by 150 metre commercial building was burning, with four crews and a ladder truck required.
The fire is now under control with hotspots being dampened.
Christchurch City Holdings Limited (CCHL), the Christchurch City Council's investment arm has been approached for comment by AM.
