Some lanes are closed on the Auckland Harbour Bridge as "severe wind gusts" lash the city.
MetService said strong westerlies, gusting up to 80km/h in exposed places, were expected in Auckland before easing on Saturday night.
As a result, the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi has closed lanes on Saturday afternoon and reduced speed limits on the bridge.
Waka Kotahi said motorists should expect delays.
High-sided vehicles and motorcycles should consider the alternative Western Ring route via State Highways 18 and 16, the agency added.
