A pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle at the Interislander Ferry Terminal in Pipitea, Central Wellington.

Police told Newshub that officers received a call at 7:20am on Thursday morning.

The person was initially described as "conscious, breathing and very sore".

Police later informed Newshub that the person had sustained "moderate injuries".

Interislander Operations General Manager Duncan Roy said the collisions happened when "a passenger left their vehicle while in the passenger vehicle marshalling yard at Kaiwharawhara Point".
