Champion slam poets Rehe Kōrero share their take on Te Tiriti o Waitangi

It's been an epic year for the inspiring rangatahi poets who make up Rehe Kōrero.

They're the reigning Aotearoa spoken word champions - beating poets from every high school in the country in the competition Word - The Front Line.

Koromiko Jacobs-Williams, Piremina Ngapera, Billy McCarthy, and Milan Moala also went on to win against Australian college students to take the trans-Tasman trophy.

They range in age from 15 to 18 years old and are all pupils or former pupils of Waiorea School, also known as Western Springs College, in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Rehe Kōrero performed for audiences at the Laneway and Splore festivals this summer.

Their work is topical and often political, and tonight they bring their new piece about Te Tiriti o Waitangi to The Hui.
