Firefighters have been called to three house fires and one scrub fire in the South Island overnight.
Fire and Emergency were called to a vegetation fire at Tiwai Point in Southland at 10:45pm Sunday.
The fire, which has since been extinguished, is being treated as suspicious, and police are assisting FENZ with their investigation into the blaze.
The three house fires took place in Otago, West Coast and Southland.
The first ignited at around 7pm at a house in Otautau, Southland.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, the fire was "well involved" and further appliances were called to assist.
The fire has since been extinguished and is not being treated as suspicious.
The second house fire occurred at around 10:30 at a house in Willowbank, Dunedin.
FENZ said the second fire alarm was at the rear of the property. The fire was put out and one person was taken to hospital.
The third house fire also occurred at around 10:30pm Sunday.
FENZ were called to the fire on the exterior of a house in Runanga, West Coast.
The fire, which has been extinguished, is not being treated as suspicious.
