A group is on the run after assaulting the occupant of an Auckland home and stealing items before fleeing the scene on foot.
The alleged offenders have not yet been identified.
Police said the group forced a window of the house open on Mt Eden's Dominion Rd at about 11:15pm on Wednesday.
Det Snr Sgt Martin Friend said the group then threatened both occupants with a weapon before assaulting one of them and making off with some personal items.
"One person was attended to by ambulance staff and transported to hospital in a moderate condition," Friend said in a statement.
"At this stage, our investigation is in the very early stages to determine who was responsible."
The house's occupants declined to comment when contacted by Newshub.
"Anyone with footage or information that may assist is asked to contact police via our 105 phone service, referencing file number 240314/4823," Friend added.
