A man is in a critical condition after an assault in Auckland's Ōtāhuhu overnight.
Police said officers responded to reports of a fight between a man and a group not known to him on Avenue Rd at about 1:30am.
The man's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and investigations are ongoing to identify those involved.
