Two crashes on State Highway 1 heading north into Auckland are causing a headache for motorists on Monday morning.
A crash on the Southern Motorway just after 7am blocked two northbound lanes after the Redoubt Rd on-ramp.
It was cleared about half an hour later with motorists told to allow extra time as delays through the area eased.
Meanwhile, traffic on State Highway 1 south of Auckland has been also delayed for more than 45 minutes after a two-vehicle crash.
One person has been injured following the collision on the Waikato Expressway heading north, just south of Hampton Downs Road.
"This was a crash between a car and a truck (nose to tail) reported about 5:30am in the northbound lane," a police spokesperson said.
"One person had minor injuries, but the road was blocked for a time which caused some traffic disruption."
A tow vehicle arrived at the scene at around 6:30am, and "vehicles are on the way to being cleared", they added.
One man who spoke with Newshub said the traffic showed "no signs of moving".
"The traffic northbound has been stopped for more than 45 minutes," he said.
Meanwhile, Waka Kotahi (NZTA) said one lane north had since reopened.
"Delay your journey or expect delays through this area until both lanes reopen."
