One person has died following a fatal crash in Auckland's Eden Terrace on Sunday night.
"The single-vehicle crash, on State Highway 16 near Stanley Street, was reported to police at around 8:45pm," a spokesperson said.
"Sadly, one person received critical injuries and died at the scene."
Police are extending their condolences to "friends and whānau" of the victim.
"The Tāmaki Makaurau Serious Crash Unit attended and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are underway."
It comes after another person died during a single vehicle crash on Marua Road, Hikurangi on Sunday night.
"One person died in the crash, which was reported to police at 7:20pm," a spokesperson said.
Hikurangi is 17km north of Whangārei.
"Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are under way and motorists are asked to avoid the area."
