Police have named the two people killed in a Kekerengū crash on Thursday.
They were Philip Donald Wightman, 67, and Suzanne Elizabeth Watson, 58, of Southland.
They died in a two-vehicle collision on State Highway 1.
"Police extend our condolences to their family and friends at this difficult time," a statement on Wednesday said.
"Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing."
