Police are continuing to search for a man who fell from his boat in Waikato.

The man was fishing alone off the coast of Raglan on Tuesday when at around 10am he made a call over Maritime Radio stating he was having a medical event.

A short time later, he activated his emergency locator beacon.

The man's boat was found empty and despite extensive water and air searches, the man is yet to be located.

Police said its National Dive Squad is joining the search on Wednesday morning.

"Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time," Sergeant Warren Shaw said.
