Meet the Murdochs: the latest family to take the Newshub challenge

Meet the Murdochs. The latest family to take the Newshub challenge.

This family of five from Havelock North has a lot going on in their lives. Richelle and Dave are both high school teachers and are parents to teenagers Jake, Millie and eight-year-old Scarlett.

The family are pretty active with surfing, netball and swimming to name a few.  All this activity means daily pick-ups and drop-offs eat into the afternoon and, like a lot of Kiwis, the evenings aren’t any quieter. Getting dinner on the table and homework squared away take up most of the remaining daylight hours.

However, in all this craziness of family life they still make time for the news throughout the day.  As Dave points out, “Every night we’re home, the news would be on.”

As both teachers and parents, Richelle and Dave feel they need to be in the know when it comes to what’s going on in the world, but for as long as they can remember they’ve gone to the same place for their news.

They’ve never before got their news from Newshub. So we challenged them to switch for one week.

Watch the video to see if they accept our challenge.
