Tokyo Olympics 2020: Tom Walsh, Dame Valerie Adams win warm-up shot put events in Poland

New Zealand's shot put king and queen have both won their respective events at an Olympic warmup meeting in Poland.

Tom Walsh threw 21.60 metres to win the men's competition, his sixth straight win in the leadup to the Olympics starting later this month.

It comes after the former reigning Commonwealth Games champion threw 22.22m last week in Hungary as he looks to build towards Olympic gold.

Dame Valerie Adams threw a season-best 19.75m to comfortably win the women's event in her last outing before heading to her fifth Olympics next week.

That mark is the fourth-best throw this year, and a sign the two-time Olympic champion is edging back to her best.

Fellow Kiwi Lauren Bruce was fourth in the hammer with a best throw of 69.82m.
