Are Harry and Meghan the most gay-friendly royals? Find out in Newshub's new podcast

What happened when trans advocate Petazae Thoms ate breakfast with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and why did Married at First Sight's Tayler Morgan decide to talk openly about taking the drug PrEP?

Find out in The Outlook, Newshub's new magazine-style news and entertainment podcast tailored specifically for the LGBTI community.

Hosted by Dan Lake, the fortnightly show will cover topics from Aotearoa and overseas, as well as exploring the issues and culture from within New Zealand's diverse queer community.

This week Lake co-hosts with actor Harry McNaughton.

They talk to Petazae, a transgender man who took his story all the way to the top when he was invited to meet the royal couple during their tour, and Tayler Morgan from Married at First Sight NZ discusses his decision to talk openly on the show about taking PrEP, a drug that lowers someone's chances of contracting HIV. Plus, WTF is Trump doing now?

The podcast is a passion project for Lake, who knows the importance of a visible rainbow community.

Originally from Hastings but now living in Auckland, Lake says he's well aware that not all of New Zealand is as comfortable with diverse sexualities as places like Ponsonby or Karangahape Road.

"We're going to give a voice to those within the LGBTI community who may be living in towns or even homes where they simply can't be themselves and be who they want to be. I want to use this podcast as a way to share our stories and celebrate Aotearoa's diversity."
