RWC pub Bill 'a success' – Seymour

It's nearly been a week since the Rugby World Cup kicked off, and ACT leader David Seymour is happy with how pubs have behaved with his law changes.

He drafted the Bill allowing pubs to open at any time if they screened the matches, and he says it has been a success.

"I think it's made a lot of the naysayers and the 'nanny-staters' look a bit silly, but we're only in the pool stage so I expect it will get more momentum as time goes on."

Despite attending Monday's All Black game at a pub, he isn't doing the same today.
