Sanders gains on 'inevitable' candidate Clinton

Billionaire Donald Trump is holding on to his lead in the United States' Republican presidential race, but on the Democrats' side something surprising is happening.

Hillary Clinton, who many considered a safe bet, is now trailing behind an unlikely contender – Bernie Sanders.

It is not just Britain witnessing a shock on the political left. Who would have thought a self-declared American socialist would gain some serious traction in this presidential race?

Mr Sanders is campaigning for the democratic nomination as a veteran senator from Vermont demanding radical change in the power structure of the United States.

"We are the 99 percent and it's time we took power away from the 1 percent," says Mr Sanders.

In contrast, the so-called "inevitable" democratic candidate, Ms Clinton, is looking less inevitable by the week.
