Justice spends $26k on 'staff telling staff what they did'

The Ministry of Justice spent $26,000 on an expo to show staff what their colleagues do for a job.

The ministry hired Shed 6 on the Wellington waterfront and gave their Wellington-based staff a Friday afternoon off to mix, mingle and listen to presentations.

Labour MP Jacinda Ardern is questioning whether it's a good use of taxpayer money to move staff from the ministry which is just up the road for "Wellington staff telling other Wellington staff what they did".

Ministry deputy secretary Suzanne Stew says there was "phenomenal" feedback from staff and they plan to take the expo around the country.
