Labour's compaints ridiculed by ministry

A $20 million building revamp by the Ministry of Education includes a $2.5m staircase.

Labour’s education spokesman Chris Hipkins has come out saying the expenditure on the “gold-plated” office will not go down well with educators.

The ministry’s chief executive Peter Hughes joined Paul Henry to discuss the spend.

He says the new building on Bowen St, in Wellington will end up saving the taxpayer money.
