Public shouldn’t forget Key's trusts admission - Shaw

(James Shaw)

Voters are being urged not to let John Key's admission about his links to foreign trusts go unnoticed.

The Prime Minister has money deposited in a company specialising in foreign trusts and Greens co-leader James Shaw says it looks murky and is further proof a law change is needed.

"Our laws, we aid and abet people in New Zealand and around the world, to essentially minimise and avoid paying tax. It's that unfairness that I think people are so angry about."

A tax expert has been appointed to review New Zealand's rules around foreign-owned trusts.
