Labour selects Christchurch candidate

Duncan Webb has been selected as the Christchurch Central candidate for the Labour Party.

"Congratulations to @Duncan Webb on selection for Christchurch Central. Adding to a great stable of fine 2017 Labour intake," leader Andrew Little tweeted today.

Mr Webb is a lawyer who has represented many homeowners in insurance claims after the Christchurch earthquakes.

The seat was once a safe one for Labour but National MP Nicky Wagner won it narrowly in 2011 and built the majority in 2014 despite boundary changes.
