King Abdullah II of Jordan has lobbied the New Zealand government to do more in the fight against Islamic State (IS), during his official visit to New Zealand.
Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully says he spoke with the King yesterday, in which IS was a key theme.

When asked if King Abdullah had requested New Zealand to boost its efforts in the Middle East, Mr McCully replied "he's very focused on that".

New Zealand currently has around 150 personnel in Iraq helping train local military forces.
