Dame Patsy Reddy welcomed top-ranked National MPs to Government House this morning for the official swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Bill English's new ministerial line up.
Former backbenchers Alfred Ngaro, Mark Mitchell, David Bennett and Jacqui Dean have become ministers for the first time.
Steven Joyce has been officiated as Finance Minister, along with a reshuffle of portfolios for existing ministers, including Paula Bennett taking on Police and Women, and Louise Upston taking Corrections from Judith Collins.
This is the first Government executive that Governor General Dame Patsy Reddy has officiated, after being sworn in to the role in September.
"You're here because of your talent and energy, enjoy it" Mr English told the new line up.
Mr English's first Cabinet meeting as Prime Minister took place after the ceremony.
