Adele Auckland show 'very enjoyable' - Bill English

It's been a tumultuous political week, with John Key's final speech in Parliament and the release of a book alleging the Defence Force committed war crimes, but Prime Minister Bill English managed to find time for the first of Adele's Auckland shows.

Mr English, who has proudly admitted that he specialises in being boring, tweeted on Thursday night that he was very excited to be at the concert.

"It was very enjoyable," he told Newshub political editor Patrick Gower on Friday.

"Some of it was fairly unpredictable and almost zany!"

"It was hugely entertaining and the crowd loved it. She's a professional.

"I think she's a lyrical genius and fantastic performer," he said.

With his wife Mary, Mr English viewed the show from the comfort of one of Mt Smart Stadium's corporate boxes.
