ACT party leader David Seymour was overjoyed to receive the "best birthday cake ever" on Friday, a replica of his car with a superman figurine beside it.
"I've had some epic birthday cakes thanks to the Women's Weekly Birthday Cake Book, but none lately have come close to this replica of my Lotus 7 replica," he said.
The cake, made by Sugar and Spice, is of his yellow car that he built during school and university and a superman figure.
That was before he knew he'd join the ACT Party, but the colour worked out well and the cake is "really surprisingly accurate" - even featuring the correct numberplate
Mr Seymour will turn 34 on Saturday. For his birthday he hopes that "We actually end up having an election that's a decent debate on the issues, because we've had a whole week of basically scandal and people doing things that are the opposite of what they stand for."
