What was the Ministry for Vulnerable Children is set to assume its new name of Oranga Tamariki-Ministry for Children.
The change, announced in December, will officially take effect on Thursday.
Children's Minister Tracey Martin says what the organisation does is more important than what it is called.

"However, we want the ministry's name to reflect that we have aspirations for all children and young people," she said.
Ms Martin said the change had no impact on funding for services.
She said the ministry had a budget for its establishment, including new signage for its buildings.
The rebranding comes just months after the ministry was launched by the previous National government.
Opponents of the word "vulnerable" believed it stigmatised children using the service.
