Will Thursday's Budget be rife with broken promises?

The Government has already rolled back one promise from Thursday's budget, but will there be more?

It was revealed in April lower doctors' fees had been taken off the table for the 2018 Budget and will instead be phased in gradually.

Now there are questions surrounding whether the Government will provide the extra police it has promised, leading Newshub political editor Tova O'Brien to dub it the "broken promises budget".

"This Government did make a lot of big promises and then there are a lot of big promises in that coalition agreement with New Zealand First as well," she said.

O'Brien also suggested another name for the budget - the "blame budget".
