Green Party MP Julie Anne Genter is in hospital, ready to deliver her first child.
Ms Genter said on Instagram and her personal Facebook page she biked to the hospital "because there wasn't enough room in the car for the support crew".
"But it also put me in the best possible mood," the Minister for Women wrote.
At 42 weeks, she is slightly overdue.
She'll be the second minister to give birth this year, after Jacinda Ardern gave birth to a girl in June.
