An incident after a Young Nats event in Auckland is being investigated by police after a 17-year-old girl complained of inappropriate behaviour by a male attendee.
The girl, 17, had been attending the New Zealand Young Nationals (Young Nats) Christmas drinks as a guest at the Brew on Quay bar in Auckland's CBD last Tuesday, Newsroom reports.
It's understood two National MPs were at the event.

A man claiming to be a wealthy political donor allegedly approached the young woman at the bar and asked her and her friends to join him at his apartment nearby, the report says.
There, the man allegedly grabbed the young woman's face and tried to kiss her. When she tried to pull away from the man, he pulled her back by the wrists, the report says, before she fled the apartment block and hid in a fast food outlet's toilet area.
Police told Newshub they are investigating a complaint made on the night of November 20 in Auckland Central.
A National Party spokesperson told Newshub the party was made aware of the alleged incident.
"The person who brought the issue to our attention gave no further details, or names of those persons involved.
"In line with our Health and Safety Policies, we acted quickly to offer any support and advice to the person who raised the issue, and this information was passed onto the alleged victim."
The Young Nats man involved in the incident has been suspended by the National Party, the Newsroom report says.
It's not the first time a youth political group has come under fire over sexual harassment allegations.
A man allegedly sexually harassed four teenagers in February at a Labour Youth summer school in Waihi. He was charged in July with four counts of indecent assault.
