Jacinda Ardern thanks More FM for Valentine's Day reminder

Jacinda Ardern has high praise for a radio crew after she was reminded about Valentine's Day.

"I'd completely forgotten," the Prime Minister admitted, when asked by More FM's Breakfast Club on Wednesday how she plans to spend Thursday.

"I'm in Nelson tomorrow - I must organise something," she said, going on to thank the radio crew for the reminder.

"You have just proven your worth in gold."

Last year the Prime Minister's partner, Clarke Gayford, celebrated Valentine's Day by posting his reaction to Ms Ardern's US Vogue photoshoot.

"Well that's the desktop sorted," he wrote on Twitter, alongside a screenshot of a picture of his partner as his computer background.

Ms Ardern could be forgiven for being distracted this year. She's off to Nelson on Thursday to again visit the site where New Zealand's largest bush fire has wreaked havoc.

The Prime Minister was in Nelson last Thursday where she told media she could see the fire was "significant" and Nelson was "dry as a bone" as she flew in.

"It's been absolutely incredible, when I got down there I saw a couple of guys going off a shift change and they had smiles on their faces," Ms Ardern told More FM.

"That is an incredibly hard job they've been doing through the night," she said of the emergency services.

"It has been a huge effort, and they've come from across the country, so we really owe them a debt of gratitude."
