Green Party co-leader James Shaw will speak about the student climate strike in his first public appearance since he was attacked.

The Climate Change Minister is expected to express his support for the thousands of students striking on Friday across the county calling for action on climate change.

Shaw, 45, was attacked on Thursday morning on his way to Parliament, sparking concerns about the safety of MPs and whether they require more protection.

A 47-year-old man was arrested over the attack and will appear in court on Friday.
